Question
What is the minimum dataset size AI buyers accept?
By SourceX Editorial · Updated
Short answer
There is no universal minimum. Each buyer sets its own threshold based on the use and the cost of contracting. As a rough guide, datasets with several years of history from a team of dozens of people are more likely to meet demand than a few months from a small team.
Part of: How licensing works
Explanation#
Rare, expert-heavy data can be accepted at smaller volumes.
Similar data from multiple suppliers can be combined to reach buyer minimums.
Rights and privacy#
- Confirm customer, vendor and employee agreements allow the use
- Remove or de-identify personal details before anything leaves the company
- Approve the final dataset and permitted uses in writing
How licensing works#
A business describes its data, buyer demand is assessed, scope and permitted use are proposed, the data is prepared and de-identified, an agreement is signed, and the approved dataset is delivered. See data licensing for detail.
