Re-identification
Quick answer
Linking supposedly anonymous data back to a specific person, often by combining it with other information.
Rare combinations of details such as zip code, birth date and job title can identify people even without names.
Data licenses commonly prohibit buyers from attempting re-identification, and preparation reviews look for combinations that make it easy.
