Glossary
K-anonymity
Quick answer
A privacy measure where each record is indistinguishable from at least k−1 others on identifying attributes.
It is achieved by generalizing or suppressing details, for example replacing exact ages with age bands.
It is a useful check for structured data but does not fully protect free text or prevent every inference.
