Lawful basis

One of the six legal grounds under GDPR that permit processing personal data, such as consent, contract or legitimate interests.
Every processing purpose needs a lawful basis, chosen and documented before the processing begins.
Reusing personal data for a new purpose, such as AI training, requires checking that a valid basis covers it. Removing personal details first often avoids the question.
