SOP
Quick answer
Standard operating procedure: a written, step-by-step description of how a team does a recurring task.
SOPs record the right way to do the work: checks, approvals, escalation paths and exceptions. Teams keep them in wikis, shared drives and runbooks.
For AI, SOPs are most useful alongside the records of the work itself, such as tickets or work orders. Together they show both the intended process and what actually happened, which helps teach and test AI agents doing real business tasks.
