How it works
Answers are grouped into Summary, Source, Contents, Privacy, Use and Rights sections, following the structure common to dataset cards and datasheets. Empty fields are marked Not provided and listed under Open items. The same answers are available as JSON.
Limitations
- The description is only as accurate as the answers; nothing is checked against the data itself.
- It is not a license or an agreement.
Questions
- What is a dataset card?
- A short document that explains what a dataset contains, where it came from, how personal details were handled, what it may be used for and its known gaps.
- What should a dataset description include?
- Source systems, time period, size, main fields, languages, format, privacy handling, intended and disallowed uses, known gaps, license and a contact.
- Is my file uploaded?
- No. The file is read and processed in this browser tab, and its contents are not sent to SourceX or anyone else. Closing the tab or pressing Reset clears it.
