Opt-out
Quick answer
A choice that lets a person stop a company from using their data for a particular purpose.
Several U.S. state privacy laws give consumers the right to opt out of sale, sharing or targeted advertising.
Records from people who opted out of a relevant use should be excluded from any licensed dataset.
